"This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming," says Bethesda Game Studios.

Starfield has launched in a more polished and technically stable state than any past release by Bethesda Game Studios, but a game as massive and sprawling as this one is obviously still going to have some rough edges. And with Bethesda planning on supporting the sci-fi RPG with new content and updates for the foreseeable future, we can, of course, look forward to plenty of improvements.

In fact, in a recently published update, Bethesda Game Studios has offered some brief details on what the immediate future is going to look like for Starfield, saying that it’s got several things in the works for the RPG, many of which are based on player feedback, but that, to start off, the focus will be on addressing the larger bugs and quality-of-life deficiencies- like local maps, something that has been frequently requested by players in the game’s early days.

“An enormous thank you to all of you playing Starfield and your support. We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game,” the developer writes. “We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game. This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps. Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for.”

Bethesda has released a first hotfix for Starfield that addresses some “top issues” being reported by players, but starting now, the developer says it will be releasing updates at regular intervals, bringing a number of features requested by the community.

PC players can, for instance, look forward to official support for DLSS and Ultrawide monitors, while players on both Xbox and PC can also expect an FoV slider, controls for brightness and contrast, an HDR calibration menu, and a button that directly lets you eat food instead of sending it straight into your inventory. Meanwhile, on PC, each update will also include new stability and performance improvements for Nvidia and Intel drivers.

And, of course, with Starfield being a Bethesda RPG, mod support is going to be a big part of the experience for years to come, with full mod support for the RPG coming sometime next year.

Bethesda says, “We are working on our built-in mod support (Creations) that will work across all platforms similar to what we’ve done with Skyrim and Fallout 4. This full support is planned to launch early next year. Until then, we know our PC community is already very active in the modding space and if you have any feedback on how we can make this better, please let us know. Modding and creating in our games will always be a vital and important part of who we are, and we love seeing the community get off to such a strong start.”

Starfield is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. With over 6 million player, it’s Bethesda’s biggest launch ever. Read our review of the game through here, where we awarded it a score of 10/10.
