Horizon: Zero Dawn Developer Possibly Hiring For Sequel

Some new positions may point to a sequel in development

Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of the most unique titles I can remember releasing on a mainstream level in quite some time. While the open world aspect wasn’t anything new, its meshing of stone age civilization trappings with futuristic machinery was quite something. (It apparently impressed Capcom so much they had two crossovers with it and their wildly popular Monster Hunter World.) Now, it seems some new positions for jobs at developer Guerilla Games could point to a sequel actively in development.

As of writing this, 16 positions are open on the company’s LinkedIn page. There’s nothing particularly special about this, but some of the descriptions seem to point to a Horizon 2, such as the (Senior) Vegetation Artist and Principal Animator for Living World. Those clearly imply something with an open world and lots of vegetation.

Of course, it’d be no surprise that a sequel to Horizon is in development, considering the success of the first game, but we’ve yet to hear anything official about it. The PS5 is right around the corner, however, so I won’t be too surprised to see murmurings about it soon.
