Out of all Xbox first party releases currently confirmed to be launching this year, nearly all have received significant gameplay showings to kick the year off- except Starfield, of course, which is arguably the biggest release of the lot. Thankfully, it’s been confirmed for a while that a standalone showcase focused on Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG is in the works, and though there’s been no word until now on when it will premiere, that might change soon.
That’s according to VGC’s Andy Robinson, who recently took to Twitter and said that based on what he’s heard, an announcement for the Starfield showcase is “imminent”. This follows recent statements by Bethesda that it was still “sorting some stuff out” for the showcase ahead of announcing a date for it.
The company has also previously indicated that it will be announcing a release date for the space-faring RPG at the showcase, though what that release date will actually be remains to be seen. Recent reports have claimed that the game is targeting a June launch, though previous leaks had indicated that it may have been delayed into later in the Summer. Officially, it’s still set to launch in the first half of this year.
Starfield is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
