Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio is on track for release next month, with a free demo currently available on all platforms. In the meantime, with Tokyo Game Show ongoing, Atlus has released a short new trailer. Check it out below, though be warned of slight spoilers.

While the last trailer highlights the death of Euchronia’s King, this one showcases how the Prince was cursed. As a candidate in the Royal Tournament, the protagonist sets out to cure them. They’ll awaken their Archetype, the Seeker, and build bonds with Followers to unlock more.

These include the Elemental Master, who can call down a meteor, and the Destroyer, dealing massive physical damage. The Trickster can hit all enemies by putting on a show, while the Dark Knight summons a cadre of dark warriors to assail the foe. Finally, there’s the Messiah, who unleashes a powerful bolt of lightning on targets. Over 40 Archetypes are available to harness.

Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Progress from its demo carries over, making it the best way to play early.
