Lego The Hobbit (Video Game) Mega Guide: Red & Mithril Bricks, Studs, Collectibles

The Hobbit is one of the new biggest franchises of this generation. This is despite the fact that one book effectively spawned three movies. That doesn’t mean it isn’t an entertaining experience and that goes double for the video game adaptation The Lego Hobbit. One doesn’t simply walk into Mordor though – or seemingly traverse anywhere in Middle Earth safely – so we came up with this helpful guide to insure you win out in the end, slay the dragon and make it here and back again on this unexpected journey.

Using this guide you will be able to find locations of red bricks, mithril design schematic pieces, mithril bricks and blacksmith designs. Furthermore you will also be able to unlock all characters, find red brick: minikit detector, minikits, treasure items and unlock the ‘Stone Giant Stomp’ bonus level. Finally, you will also be able to unlock trophies/achievements as well.

Red Brick Locations Guide:

There are 32 Red Bricks and you can find all of them using the video guide below. These are basically divided into x2, x4, x6, x8, x10 Studs, Invincibility & More.

Mithril Design schematic pieces locations:

There are 32 Mithril Design schematic pieces which you can find using the video guide below. Using these schematics you can craft them at the Blacksmith in Bree.

Mithril Bricks Locations:

There are a total of 250 Mithril Bricks in Lego The Hobbit. Here are some tips to find all the Mithril Bricks:

  • There are 16 levels in the game and completing them will unlock Mithril Brick for each level. This will give you 16 Mithril Bricks.
  • The player needs to complete a level’s “Master Burglar” minimum stud requirement. This needs to be done once per level so that is another 16 Mithril Bricks.
  • You need to collect 10 mini kits from each level. This will again give you a Mithril Brick. So that’s another 16.
  • Final all the treasure items in each of the 16 levels. This is yet another 16 Mithril Bricks.
  • You can earn more Mithril Bricks by exploring more of the Middle-Earth and smashing groups of Lego objects.
  • Find each Blacksmith Design. There are a total of 32 in the game.

Blacksmith Designs Locations Guide:

There are 32 Blacksmith Designs in the game. 16 are present in the story missions and the other 16 can be found in overworld. The thing is if you need the item itself, you would need to approach blacksmith in the town of Bree and select the required item. This will cost you Mithril Bricks.

It’s also best to find “Fetch Quest Finder” Red Brick first. We have already described 32 Mithril Design schematics so that should cover the Blacksmith Designs for the story mode. Below you will find the locations of the other 16 in the overworld.
