Call of Duty Black Ops 6 - Multiplayer

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s campaign feels like the usual schlock the series is known for, most fans are probably eager to learn more about multiplayer. As rumored, the sequel introduces Omnimovement, allowing players to sprint in any direction. Sliding and diving are also possible, and one can also enter a supine prone with a full 360-degree view.

Another new feature is Intelligent Movement, which adds three new settings – Sprint Assist, Mantle Assist and Crouch Assist – to fine-tune and leverage Omnimovement. Of course, these are optional, and you can turn them off. The Enemy Hit Zones has gone from four to nine, providing more takedown and animation variety in multiplayer and the campaign.

Treyarch also touts something called World Connectivity. It’s a “much more subtle but recognizable set of animation overhauls based on the concept that the player’s movement and reactions are connected to the in-game world in a dynamic way and based on the player’s choices.” This should result in less jarring animation transitions and something called Corner Slicing, where your weapon will dynamically rotate when rounding a corner or going through a doorway.

Though it’s purely visual and doesn’t affect gameplay, it adds to the realism. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC (alongside Game Pass). It’s also always online in every game mode – head here for more details.
