The radio silence from Microsoft about its upcoming projects over the last few months has become a pretty major concern for the Xbox fanbase of late, but some signs seem to be pointing to new announcements and updates from the company coming in the not-too-distant future.

A recent report by journalist Jez Corden said that there were rumblings that Microsoft was planning some sort of an Xbox event in the coming months, and another new rumour is now suggesting the same. Speaking on a recent episode of the Xbox Two Podcast, known Xbox insider Rand al Thor stated that he’d been told by two independent sources that Microsoft was putting together plans for a showcase in early 2023. The insider did say that the rumour was as of yet “unverifiable”, so it doesn’t look like there are any concrete details out there yet.

Recently, shortly after The Game Awards, Xbox exec Aaron Greenberg said that the company had “a lot” planned to show for 2023. So far, Microsoft has three major titles announced for the year, with Forza Motorsport scheduled for Spring 2023, and Redfall and Starfield targeting releases in the first half of the year.

Beyond that, Microsoft has a number of games confirmed to be in development that haven’t received substantial (or any) updates in quite some time, including the likes of Fable, Avowed, Perfect Dark, Contraband, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and more. Whether we’ll be hearing more about any of these games in the near future remains to be seen.
