World of Warcraft Classic

Blizzard Entertainment announced recently that BlizzCon 2018 attendees (and those who purchased a Virtual Ticket) could play a demo for World of Warcraft: Classic. The vanilla version of the MMO has been highly anticipated by fans, and this will be their first time to actually go hands-on with it. “Early” game zones were confirmed last month, but now the developer has more specific details.

Two zones will be available – the Barrens for Horde and Westfall for Alliance. PvP is limited to dueling, and dungeons like Deadmines and Wailing Caverns won’t be accessible. Furthermore, players will begin at level 15, and can level up to 19 via quests. Play sessions are time-limited, but each time one logs off, their overall progress will be saved.

Other features include creating as many characters from different classes as desired, and integration with existing friend lists on Battle.net. Widescreen support, tools to report cheating, and settings for colour blind players have also been confirmed. There’s no launch date for WoW: Classic, but 2019 may be the year. Stay tuned for more details, as BlizzCon 2018 takes place on November 2nd and 3rd.
