E3 2012 is now done and dusted, and Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all had their say at their respective conferences. And now that all the showings, announcements and trailers are out of the way, we can take a look back and see what went right and what went wrong.

A lot of games were announced and shown off in the last 40 hours, and almost all of them were extremely impressive. So, quite obviously, picking just 10 games out of all those proved to be a very tough job. We had to leave out quite a few, like Call of Duty : Black Ops 2 and Dead Space 3, but we’re pretty sure you’ll agree with our Top 10.

Have a look, enjoy and leave behind your feedback in the comments section below!

10. Far Cry 3

Boy, oh boy, were we impressed with Ubisoft’s showing of Far Cry 3. They should off some very impressive footage of the game, showing just how good it’ll actually look, and we have to say, it looked better than almost every game shown at E3 this year, and that includes the likes of Crysis 3. The visuals weren’t the only impressive thing though- they should some pretty interesting mechanics, like a cover system similar to that in the Killzone games, crossbow shooting, fights against wildlife (yes, you can kill tigers), and gave plenty of other details. Far Cry 3 will give you 3 islands  to explore in the SP and a separate 4 player co-op campaign. It certainly looks very good and the E3 showing impressed us greatly.

9. Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Splinter Cell made a comeback at Microsoft’s E3 press conference when Ubisoft confirmed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be releasing next year. They also showed a trailer of the game at their own presser, but it was the gameplay footage (given above) that really impressed us. The game seems to have a much more agile and nimble Sam Fisher, with a deadly move set and abilities like “Killing in Motion.” This particular feature looks excellent, as it expertly blends cinematic kills with smooth gameplay. The game also has Assassin’s Creed-like platforming, or hints of it. It’s also supposed to feature a separate co-op campaign, just like its predecessor Conviction did. All in al, it looks really good, and we’re excited to see what Ubisoft announces about the game in the coming months.

8. Medal of Honor: Warfighter

2010’s Medal of Honor may have been a derivative, underwhelming game, but it doesn’t look like Medal of Warfighter is going to be anything like that at all. It looks like an excellent game, not just because the shooting is so intense and it actually tries new stuff unlike most of the other franchises in the genre, but also because DICE’s FrostBite 2.0 engine lends it so much prowess and beauty, it’s hard to look at it and not immediately want to play it, even if you’re not a shooter fan. This is definitely going to be a must buy when it comes out later this year.
