Tomb Raider Ultimate Experience Trademarked By Square Enix

A new trademark points to something ultimate for the classic franchise.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition

It’s now been over a year since the latest release in the Tomb Raider franchise, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The rebooted trilogy concluded its main arc with that game, and no one knows for sure what the future holds for the franchise. But now we may have a hint, though who knows what it could be.

A new trademark was filed by Square Enix for something called Tomb Raider Ultimate Experience, with the abbreviation of T.R.U.E., though it’s not clear if that’s actually part of the title. No platforms are mentioned here, so what this could be is anyone’s guess. It could be an enhanced version of the reboot trilogy for next generation consoles, or maybe a collection of all the titles in some form even pre-reboot.

It was said after Shadow that the franchise still definitely had a future despite a slow start to that game’s sales in the beginning. Whatever Ultimate Experience is, we should hear about it relatively soon.
