Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics confirmed that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition would indeed be arriving in January 2014 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and would take advantage of the advanced hardware to implement TressFX, advanced shading techniques and a stronger level of detail all-around. However, it was also confirmed that the game would run at native 1080p. This sounds normal for the PS4 – which has seen several 1080p titles since launch – but what about the Xbox One?

It seems to be heading in the same direction, since the official Xbox Twitter stated that the game will be arriving for the Xbox One in native 1080p.

We’ll have to wait for the game to come out to properly assuage just how much of an improvement it is over the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts on this, especially since the Xbox One has always been criticized for not being able to handle 1080p resolution games? Let us know in the comments below.
