Lara Croft is reborn (again).

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics finally confirmed Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, a PS4 and Xbox One version of the March 2013 action adventure which collects all the previous DLC and bumps it up with next-gen visuals. This includes 1080p resolution and new high resolution textures. Check out the reveal trailer above.

Tomb Raider was a reboot of the franchise which told the origins story of protagonist Lara Croft. The game was a grittier, bloodier version of what’s typically been seen in Tomb Raider titles, as Lara must run, climb, scavenge and burn her way through savage opposition.

Interestingly, there is no 3D option for the game and is Crystal’s first steps towards bringing Tomb Raider to next gen consoles. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will release on January 28th 2014 for the Xbox One and PS4. What are your thoughts on being able to play the game for next gen consoles? Let us know below as the Spike VGX Awards roll on.
