The First Descendant - Season 1 Invasion

Magnum Studio has detailed The First Descendant’s first season, Invasion, which goes live on August 29th for all players. However, following mixed reactions from the community about splitting it into three updates, producer Lee Beom-jun has confirmed that there will only be two.

As a result, the first update arriving with the season’s launch is available on August 29th while the second goes live on October 10th. The previously planned third update will now be merged into the second.

“The previous schedule was initially planned to provide consistent updates every month, before each content release. However, I have to admit that I’ve failed to fully meet your expectations,” said Beom-jun. He also noted that the team is “examining the update methods” for upcoming seasons.

The developer has been working continuously on patches and hot fixes since the free-to-play shooter’s launch in July. It’s now looking into “various measures and methods, such as reorganizing the development process and even actively recruiting additional personnel. We will do our best to prepare better updates that will make you satisfied.”

The First Descendant is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. It’s unknown if this change to the update cycle will affect Season 2: Ancestor’s targeted launch in December. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
