Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been on its last legs since pretty much the day it came out, but in spite of its critical and commercial failure, the open world looter shooter is going to see its announced post-launch plans through. Season 2 is set to go live on July 25, bringing a new playable character in Mrs. Freeze, along with other additions, and developer Rocksteady Studios has revealed further details on what players can expect upon is arrival.

Mrs. Freeze, an Elseworlds variant of Mr. Freeze, goes by the name Victoria Frias in her world, and is described as an “ice-cold, self-sufficient survivalist”. The last survivor of her planet, which succumbed to a deadly ice age after Brainiac’s invasion, Mrs. Freeze will become playable once players have finished a series of Season 2 Incursions and done the new Brainiac boss fight.

Mrs. Freeze’s freeze tech will, as you may have imagined, be key to her combat and traversal abilities. Using her tech, she will create icy paths that she will slide around on both in the air and on the ground, while other traversal abilities will allow her to create icy platforms and even loop-de-loops.

Where combat is concerned, she will come equipped with three different playstyles- the Cooler playstyle will focus on her cryotech, the Physicist playstyle will focus primarily on melee effectiveness, and the Technician playstyle will be all about the gear and what you have equipped.

In addition to Mrs. Freeze, Suicide Squad’s second season is also set to bring a new Elseworld for players to explore- Mrs. Freeze’s home, where players will explore an icy and completely frozen over version of the base game’s Metropolis open world. In addition to a new visual look and theming, the new Elseworld will also feature new environmental hazards in the form of lava pools, altered landmarks and locations, and more.

Where new weapons and gear are concerned, players can expect plenty of it themed around various DC villains, like a Killer Frost Infamy set, Notorious Firefly and Golden Glider gear, and notorious melee Parasite weapons. More additions over the course of the season will include a Captain Cold Infamy set, Notorious Heatwave and Icicle gear, and more.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
