Steam Deck

After reassuring customers not once but twice that the Steam Deck was on track for a February 2022 release, Valve has finally provided a release date. The handheld PC will officially launch on February 25th at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET. At this time, the first order emails will be sent to those who reserved their console.

At that point, they’ll have 72 hours to purchase the Steam Deck. Failure to do so will result in the reservation going to the next person in the queue. The console’s first units will start shipping on February 28th but press units are being sent out for full review. The embargo for the same lifts on February 25th but previews and other coverage should go live before that.

Valve is currently working on tying up “the last few loose ends” and polishing “some rough edges” but is excited to launch the console next month. Recently, it was revealed that a number of titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Death Stranding, Dark Souls 3 and more had been fully optimized for the Steam Deck. Head here for more information and stay tuned for additional details in the coming weeks.
