Shadow Gambit - The Cursed Crew

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Mimimi Games’ next squad-based strategy game, is doing things differently from the Shadow Tactics series. It features more fantasy elements like an undead pirate crew and magic while exploring various islands in the Lost Caribbean. Some things never change, though, like the developer’s penchant for massive locations with deep sandboxes.

The Iron Bay is one such location and serves as a “blazing furnace” for the Inquisition. It’s one of the biggest islands and features various points of interest. One spot has cursed items collected from across the Timeless Shores. Another focuses on interrogating suspected heretics and sentencing them to penance work.

There’s also a sanatorium to treat soldiers and the Purification Pit, where cursed materials are thrown in and recycled into iron for the Inquisition to use in their weapons. We can’t wait to see how players assail each location, especially since they can choose their party for missions.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is out this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Stay tuned for more Island Spotlight videos, and check out our interview with the developer, who confirmed a playtime of 25 to 30 hours.
