It was a hard fought battle, though.

Black Friday may be more of an American thing than a British thing, but Black Friday discounts and promotions have become a pretty regular thing in the UK over the last few years as well. It lines up really well with the Christmas shopping season, so it does make sense.

This Black Friday saw some good promotions for both, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the UK, and in the end, both consoles ended up doing pretty well. However, for the regular console warrior, the news here is that the PS4 managed to beat out the Xbox One… but only just. The PS4 managed to eke out 139,000 units sold over Black Friday, while the Xbox One sold 134,000 units.

The Wii U, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii collectively managed to sell 42,000 units. Which really isn’t a whole lot. It seems like the UK is strictly PS4/Xbox One territory for now.
