It’s official – NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders go live on May 19th, granting access to the upcoming beta and Shang Tsung as a playable character. In a new FAQ, the developer confirmed that the beta would go live in August.

The fighting game will have three Editions – Standard ($69.99), Premium ($109.99) and Kollector’s Edition ($249.99). Pricing is uniform across all platforms, though the Kollector’s Edition is exclusive to the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Those who purchase it or the Premium Edition also get early access to the game on September 14th.

Along with early access, the Premium Edition features 1,250 Dragon Krystals (which are in-game currency) and the Kombat Pack, which includes a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage. The latter also grants early access to six new characters and five new Kameo Fighters releasing post-launch.

The Kollector’s Edition includes all the content in the Premium Edition but with 1,450 more Dragon Krystals. You also get a Liu Kang sculpture, an inspired in-game skin, three art prints and a steel case.

The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions are developed by NetherRealm Studios. However, QLOC is working on the PC port, while Shiver Entertainment and Saber Interactive are developing the Nintendo Switch version. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
