Monster Hunter Rise And Stories 2 Headed To PC Per New Leak – Rumor

A massive leak shows the two new Monster Hunter titles to be PC bound.

Monster Hunter Rise

Earlier this year we got the news that the Monster Hunter series was going back to the portable space with the announcement of not one, but two different titles coming to the Switch in 2021. One is a more traditional looking game called Monster Hunter Rise while the other is a sequel to the JRPG-styled subseries, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. So far they have only been talked about in reference to coming to Nintendo’s hybrid, but a new leak points to other horizons.

If you’re unaware, Capcom was the victim of a massive data leak. The details around it are wild as it involves hackers holding the company’s data hostage and demanding payment. The hackers in question released what they claim to be just a small part of what they have, which includes lots of information about upcoming titles, source code for games, and unfortunately it looks like employee personal information. Part of that of all that was the indication that Rise and Stories 2 will be coming to the PC.

As reported by VG24/7, the leak points to Rise being timed exclusive on the Switch with a PC version set to come sometime in October (the game releases on Switch in March), and interestingly, Stories 2 will be on both PC and Switch at the same time sometime in June of next year. There is nothing on other platform release. Due to the potential sensitive employee information, we won’t be linking anything directly from the leak itself.

As with all leaks, you have to file this under rumor for the time being. While Capcom has, obviously, not confirmed the contents of the leak, they have talked about the data breach, which you can read more about through here. It’s possible all of this is outdated information and could potentially not be accurate anymore. It wouldn’t be too surprising, however, since Monster Hunter has grown into such a massive franchise for both games to end up on other platforms however.
