It was nearly a couple of years ago that leaks of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake first emerged, with Singapore-based support studio Virtuos being mentioned as its developer at the time. Recently, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater got officially revealed, though Konami did not mention who was developing it, which has naturally raised some questions.

That, however, has now been cleared up. Not only has Virtuos teased its involvement in the project with a tweet of a snake emoji, Konami itself has also confirmed the same, with Kotaku senior reporter Ethan Gach revealing on Twitter that the project is being co-developed by Konami and Virtuos, with the latter “fully supporting” it.

“In addition to Konami’s development team who is involved in the development of the Metal Gear series, the game is fully supported by Virtuos,” the company said in a statement.

Of course, Konami still hasn’t explicitly confirmed just what the extent of Virtuos’ involvement in the project is and what its support work entails, but either way, those aforementioned leaks have indeed turned out to be accurate.

Meanwhile, Konami has also confirmed that the remake will be bringing back the original game’s voice cast. Read more on that through here.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
