Honkai Star Rail - Version 2.1

The Penacony arc continues in miHoYo’s Honkai: Star Rail with Version 2.1, “Into the Yawning Chasm.” Launching on March 27th, it adds two new characters – Acheron, the so-called Galaxy Ranger, and Aventurine, an Interastral Peace Corporation executive and one of the Ten Stonehearts. Check out the trailer below.

Following the events of Version 2.0, it’s obvious that Penacony is shrouded in deviousness, particularly concerning the Watchmaker’s Legacy. Players will explore new storylines and areas like the Dewlight Pavilion and Clock Studios Theme Park. Aventurine is also seemingly playing his own game throughout all of this.

As for the latest characters, Acheron is available in the first half. As a five-star Lightning character, she walks the Path of Nihility and accumulates Slashed Dream charges based on enemy debuffs. Once it reaches a certain amount, she can unleash her Ultimate. Aventurine, meanwhile, is available in the second half and serves as a 5-star Preservation character dealing Imaginary damage and creating a stackable shield.

When allies take hits, he’ll gain charges for Blind Bet, which unleashes a follow-up attack that reapplies the shield. His Ultimate can also debuff enemies, causing them to take more Critical Damage. Other available characters include Gallagher, a 4-star Abundance character that deals Fire damage, and re-runs of Luocha and Jingliu.

If that weren’t enough, a new drink-mixing event for Dreamscape monsters, “Vignettes in a Cup,” will also be available alongside the ninth world of Simulated Universe. Honkai: Star Rail is available for iOS, Android, PS5 and PC. Check out our review for the base game here.
