Hogwarts Legacy is out on February 10th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. However, Deluxe Edition owners get early access starting today. In a new video, ElAnalistaDeBits has analyzed the visuals on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S, along with the performance and options. Check it out below.

Current-gen consoles have five modes, with Quality Mode on par with High/Ultra settings on PC with a 1800p resolution and 30 FPS without ray tracing. It also improves draw distance, vegetation, lighting, texture quality and more on consoles.

Enabling Ray-Tracing Mode applies it on shadows and reflections, though it seems to generate a lot of noise on some surfaces for all platforms. Texture quality and draw distance also take a hit on consoles. The mode is deemed too demanding for PC, and there’s a belief that ray-tracing was added as a “superfluous improvement.”

High Frame Rate Modes are also available for Balanced and Performance, though you can only enable them on 120 Hz displays. In terms of performance, the PS5 does better in Ray-Tracing Mode, while Xbox Series X performs better in the rest. Stuttering problems persist in all versions when going through rooms in Hogwarts Castle, where the game freezes briefly until the room has loaded.

The frame rate can be unlocked on all platforms, except Xbox Series S. Xbox Series S doesn’t have Ray-Tracing Mode and can instead choose Quality, Performance or Balanced Modes. Only Balanced Mode works with 120 Hz displays. There are also fewer NPCs in this version.

Though the stuttering can be annoying, Hogwarts Legacy plays well on all platforms. Stay tuned for more details in the coming days.
