Getting Gold in Hogwarts Legacy isn’t a monumentally difficult task – you could easily play the game and earn it normally. However, those who want to farm it and quickly purchase all the Conjuration Spellcraft or buy any missing beasts for their Vivarium can avail of a quick and easy Gold-farming method.

How to Quickly Farm Gold

First, you need access to the Room of Requirement and have progressed the story post-Autumn. You’ll receive a quest, “Foal of the Dead,” from Deek, which involves capturing Thestrals. Do that, and then go to Tomes and Scrolls to purchase the Breeding Pen Spellcraft from Thomas. Return to the Room of Requirement and conjure them, but you’ll need some Gold to unlock them.

By this point, you should have three Vivariums, and each can have a Breeding Pen that holds up to four species. The strategy, detailed in the video below by Born 2 Game, is to have a male and female beast for each species in the Breeding Pen. Every 30 minutes, they’ll create offspring, and you can be out completing quests or doing other things.

If you have nine different species for all three Breeding Pens, that results in nine offspring every half an hour. Return to the Vivariums and then put the offspring into your inventory. You can then have the male and female species return to the Breeding Pen to continue creating offspring.

Head to Brood and Peck in the northern part of Hogsmeade and sell the offspring for money. All nine will net about 1080 Gold, which amounts to 2160 Gold per hour. Sure, it’s morally questionable, but it’s a reliable source of passive income without any additional grinding required. Collect materials from the offspring before placing them into your inventory.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our review for more details and our guide for tips on farming XP and leveling up fast here.
