Game Overview:
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is a 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Cygames.
It is a direct sequel to 2020’s Granblue Fantasy Versus.
The story continues in "When Tomorrow Comes", while the new mini-games include Slime Blaster in Grand Bruise! and Robomi: Epic Clash.
Vikala is the final DLC character for the current season. A release date for Character Pass 2 and Sandalphon has yet to be confirmed.
Version 1.50 launches the same day and includes new story episodes, Grand Master rank, balance changes, a new Battle Pass and more.
The manifestation of destruction will finally be playable in Version 1.50, which also features balance changes for Gran and Lucilius.
The new character is reportedly Versusia, who was datamined alongside other upcoming characters. She'll be playable for attendees.
Wielding the causality-devouring sword Embrasque, Beatrix strikes quickly and can slow an opponent's descent for extending combos.
As the third DLC character for Cygames' fighting game, the Order of the White Dragon's officer wields an axe and deals exceptional damage.
Alongside classic attacks and combos from NieR: Automata, 2B has a Skill Gauge for various Pod skills and can self-destruct.
As the second DLC character for Arc System Works' fighter, NieR: Automata's protagonist joins the roster on February 20th.
The second DLC character launches with Version 1.2. A new outfit for Zeta and Weapon Cutouts in online lobbies are also inbound.
The YoRHa unit joins Cygames' acclaimed fighting game in late February 2024 as part of Character Pass 1 and standalone for $7.99.
The update will also add a new lobby avatar, cosmetics, bug fixes, and a quality-of-life update for spectating lobby matches.
The sequel may come off as more of an extensive update, but more characters, extensive features, and additional mechanics justify checking it out.
Developed by Arc System Works, the sequel is playable on PS4, PS5 and PC and includes new characters, new modes and rollback netcode.
New modes for Grand Bruise Legends, bonus story content and a new lobby mini-game are also coming from April 2024 onwards.
Lucilius is the boss in the fighting game's Story Mode but will also become a playable DLC character in mid-January 2024.
It includes Casual and Lobby Matches with crossplay, Training Mode and Grand Bruise Legends. Newcomers Anila and Siegfried are also playable.
The recently revealed balance and system changes had a "much larger" impact than expected, so the team is taking more time to polish.
Casual and Lobby Matches, along with Grand Bruise Legends, are included along with crossplay and new characters Anila and Siegfried.
A second open beta has also been announced for this Fall, which, unlike the first one, will also be available on PC.
Cygames will be recapping previously release information on both titles, in addition to also providing new details.
A pre-access beta for random applicants will run from July 26th to 27th. An open beta will then go live from July 28th to 30th.
Cygames said the game's release is "still on track to meet our initial target." It will announce a date after beta testing concludes.
The hero in black is the second new character to join the roster. Cygames also confirmed the next character reveal for early July.
Due to "stability issues during online play," the beta is delayed past May. A new date will be revealed, "as soon as things have settled."
The fighting game sequel is still set to release this year for PS4, PS5 and PC and features new mechanics, rollback netcode and crossplay.
Arc System Works and Cygames also confirm a trailer, potentially another new character, for EVO Japan 2023 from March 31st to April 2nd.
The Dash Attack lets players close the distance, while the Triple Attack can now unleash overhead or low attacks on the third hit.
The follow-up to Arc System Works' 2020 fighter includes cross-platform play, rollback netcode and Grand Bruise Legends mode.
