Sony’s presence on PC has greatly expanded of late with the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone having made its way over to the platform, but they recently made perhaps a much bigger splash than both of those when they announced that God of War (2018) will also be coming to PC soon.

Who exactly is developing it though? Well, it’s not who you’d expect. Sony has confirmed to Ars Technica that the God of War PC port is being overseen by the game’s original developers at SIE Santa Monica Studio, but the actual development of the port has been outsourced to Vancouver-based studio Jetpack Interactive. This does come as a bit of a surprise, especially so close to Sony’s acquisition of PC-port specialist Nixxes Software.

God of War is releasing for PC on January 14, 2022. Not long after that, PC players will also get to dive into Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Meanwhile, God of War: Ragnarok is slated for PS5 and PS4 sometime in 2022.
