11 bit studios’ Frostpunk celebrates its sixth anniversary, with the developer announcing over five million copies sold on all platforms. It first launched in 2018 for PC before coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2019 and MacOS in 2021.
Some other notable figures shared by the developer include about three percent of total players having over 100 hours played. The average playtime is 24 hours, but on Steam, only 0.6 percent of all players have the “Endless Slave Driver” Achievement. It’s unlocked in Endless Mode by causing all settlements to become distrustful of you.
Perhaps the least surprising fact is that “The City Must Survive’ is the most popular track from the game’s OST, with over 6.4 million plays on Spotify and +1.3 million on YouTube. Check out our review for the base game here.
As for the future, Frostpunk 2 launches on July 25th for PC, with Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions coming later. 11 bit studios recently concluded a beta for Deluxe Edition owners, providing access to a limited version of the Utopia Builder mode. Check out its accolades trailer here to see what various publications had to say about it.
