When Square Enix announced Final Fantasy 14 for Xbox Series X/S last year, it said it also intended to bring other titles to Microsoft’s consoles down the line, which many assumed meant other major Final Fantasy releases that have skipped Xbox in recent years, from Final Fantasy 16 to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. As per recent reports, however, though some of them definitely are in the works for Xbox, others aren’t.

Journalist Jez Corden recently claimed on the Xbox Two podcast that “the whole slate” of Final Fantasy titles is set to come to Xbox Series X/S- specifically, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster.

Since then, however, others have offered somewhat conflicting details. On ResetEra, prominent leaker NateTheHate has corroborated that Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and Final Fantasy 16 are indeed coming to Xbox, with the former being the more immediate release”, and that support is planned to “extend beyond just Final Fantasy stuff”.

The leaker did not, however, mention the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, while VG247’s Alex Donaldson has also claimed on the forum that based on what he’s heard, Xbox versions of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth aren’t currently in development.

Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida has previously suggested that after its upcoming PC release, Final Fantasy 16 will also come to Xbox Series X/S, which multiple leaks have also claimed. How soon after that the company will bring Remake and Rebirth to Microsoft’s consoles remains to be seen, but for now, it doesn’t look like that’s something that’s being actively worked on. Either way, Xbox players do have Final Fantasy content to look forward to, so there’s that.
