Square Enix has dropped a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy 16, shedding light on the world of Valisthea and its various kingdoms. The world is dying, and many gather around the power of the Crystals. However, darkness still circulates beneath the surface, eventually erupting in a war between the Eikons.

The various locations include The Grand Duchy of Rosaria, which is more traditional; the Empire of Sanbreque, which is looking to conquer its neighbors; the Dhalmekian Republic located in the desert; The Iron Kingdom, where fear reigns; and the Kingdom of Waloed, which is seemingly isolated from the rest. The war between the kingdoms seems to revolve around claiming the Crystals’ “fading light.”

Protagonist Clive appears alongside other party members, investigating the Deadlands, while Joshua’s awakening of Phoenix is also seen. Various battles against Dominants and Eikons are showcased, and they look incredibly epic.

Final Fantasy 16 is out in Summer 2023, exclusively for PS5. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
