With the scale of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16, it’s no surprise that multiple teams are involved in its development. The Kingdom Hearts team contributed to the combat and boss battles, and Sony also provided support. However, the pre-launch livestream celebration confirmed that PlatinumGames in Osaka also assisted on the project.

Not only that but the contributing team was led by Takahisa Taura, who worked as a game designer on the acclaimed NieR: Automata. While Square Enix couldn’t divulge what parts the different teams worked on, there should be more details after the game’s launch. Either way, it’s an impressive roster of developers for one project.

Final Fantasy 16 launches on June 22nd for PS5. Its demo goes live on June 12th at 1 AM PDT and provides over two hours of gameplay from the Prologue. You can check out the latest trailer, “Ascension,” here. Head here for gameplay that showcases the various Hunt targets, specifically C Rank and S Rank.
