Among the many titles featured at Sony’s State of Play was Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare’s first title in the franchise in nearly a decade. While Performance and Fidelity modes were previously confirmed for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, they’ll look even better on PS5 Pro.

Speaking to PlayStation Blog, BioWare’s technical director Maciej Kurowski revealed, “The game’s Fidelity and Performance modes will both see improvements on the hardware, including improved resolution in 30 FPS Fidelity and 60 FPS Performance modes. Additionally, there will be various improved visual settings across 30 FPS Fidelity and 60 FPS Performance mode.”

Said improvements include Ray traced Ambient Occlusion on Performance with the PS5 Pro, allowing players to benefit from the feature at 60 frames per second. By comparison, it’s available in Fidelity Mode on the base PS5 at only 30 FPS. PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution will also be utilized for improved image quality, further accentuating the beauty of Thedas.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Check out some recent gameplay, which sees the Veilguard going up against a Blighted Dragon (and encountering one of the corrupt Elven gods).
