Dragon Age Tevinter Nights

When rumours broke about Dragon Age 4 being a smaller game that focused on heists in the Tevinter Imperium, we believed the setting to be lost when the game was rebooted. However, the mage-dominated region could very well have an influence on the next game. At least, if an upcoming collection of short stories is any indication.

Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights is the name of the short story collection and features lead writer Patrick Weekes as one of the editors. Previous Dragon Age books have tied into their upcoming games somehow – Weekes’ The Masked Empire had characters that appeared in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s possible that Tevinter Nights could follow the same pattern.

The short story collection is out on March 10th 2020. Dragon Age 4 doesn’t have a release date but a teaser for the same premiered at The Game Awards 2018. According to rumours, it will be have a critical story path focused on single-player and built on Anthem’s codebase. Will it suffer the same troubled development that Anthem and Mass Effect: Andromeda did? We’ll have to wait for more information in the coming months.
