Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 had a pretty successful launch last year, garnering over $666 million revenue in five days. The company has been coy about subsequent figures since then, like lifetime microtransaction revenue, but it seems to have crossed $150 million.

According to senior product manager Harrison Froeschke on LinkedIn (via GamePressure), they were in charge of the “monetization strategy of the store cosmetics, pricing, bundle offers, personalised discounts, and roadmap planning, which have driven over $150m [microtransaction] lifetime revenue.” They also “executed every step of game sales since game pre-order to the first expansion by configuring and collaborating with other teams, resulting in over $1 billion total lifetime revenue.”

The profile has since become inaccessible. Neither Activision Blizzard nor Microsoft have confirmed these figures, much less provided an update to the action RPG looter’s player numbers. If legitimate, it does provide a window into the game’s success as a live service title. We may likely receive updates on Vessel of Hatred’s sales figures after its launch, so stay tuned.

Diablo 4 is available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8th alongside a massive new update. The latter adds Party Finder, new difficulty options, new skills and passives for each class, and more.
