Team Asobi and Sony might be gearing up to reveal a new Astro Bot title, based on recent trademarks filing by the publisher for the franchise.

As spotted by Gematsu on Twitter, Sony filed trademarks for Astro Bot in Europe with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) last week, on August 25. Similarly, a fresh trademark was also filed for Astro Bot by the company in the US last week.

Though not necessarily an indicator of an imminent announcement, the fresh trademark filings could suggest that a new Astro Bot title is in the works.

Past reports have also indicated the same. In 2021, Astro Bot developer Team Asobi began expanding to work on an unannounced PS5 title. Around the same time, Sony confirmed that the studio was working on “a franchise for all ages with global appeal”, though Astro Bot wasn’t specifically named.

Job listings emerging late last year also suggested that Team Asobi was also involved in the development of a mobile game. Read more on that through here.
