Assassin's Creed Shadows

After some recent rumblings regarding the same, Ubisoft has now officially delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is now due out in February. Alongside pushing back its release date, the company has also announced a change in other plans surrounding the game, which will also reflect a change in tact for Ubisoft as a whole going forward.

For starters, Ubisoft says that, based on player feedback, it has decided to drop the Season Pass model with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, potentially due to the backlash that Star Wars Outlaws and other Ubisoft titles have drawn over their post-launch model and pricing in the past. Shadows’ first post-launch expansion is now going to be free for everyone who pre-orders the game.

“We are departing from the traditional Season Pass model,” Ubisoft says. “All players will be able to enjoy the game at the same time on February 14 and those who preorder the game will be granted the first expansion for free.”

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has also announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also be available on Steam day 1, marking a return to day and date releases on the platform for the publisher.

“The game will mark the return of our new releases on Steam Day 1,” the company says.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is due out on February 14, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
