Leaks continue to gather momentum as we approach the long-awaited reveal of Silent Hill’s revival. Konami is streaming a Silent Hill Transmission later today, and metadata for the YouTube stream has already spilled the beans on number of projects that will be revealed, one of which is a Silent Hill 2 remake. Now, a new report claims to have more details on the title.
WhatifGaming claims in recently published report that as per anonymous sources, the Silent Hill 2 remake is developed by Bloober Team, the studio behind horror titles like The Medium and Observer, and will be exclusive to PS5 and PC for at least 12 months after launch- which has been mentioned in previous leaks as well.
As per the report, the remake will feature a third person over-the-shoulder camera perspective, a la 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake, while the game’s visuals have supposedly been described as “amazing” and “truly next-gen.”
Finally, the report also claims that Silent Hill veterans Akira Yamaoka (composer) and Masahiro Ito (art director and creature designer) are also involved in the project. Their recent social media activity has strongly suggested that as well.
Interestingly, WhatifGaming’s report has also been liked on Twitter by prominent insider The Snitch, perhaps lending some credence to its claims.
Of course, it won’t be long until we find out how accurate this information is, so stay tuned.
