The last major patch for Horizon: Zero Dawn added a harder difficulty level to the game for absolutely free; now, the new patch for it adds an easier difficulty level to the game. It’s called the ‘Story’ difficulty, and as the name suggests, it is intended for those players who just want to enjoy the game’s admittedly cool story and setting without getting too bogged down by difficult battles or encounters.
I certainly think that is a smart decision- while taking down increasingly more difficult machines is exhilarating and a highlight of the Horizon experience, it can also be prohibitive for many who just want to take in the game’s cool story and try to uncover and unravel its central mystery.
That aside, the patch doesn’t seem to have much else of note- it just seems to be addressing a lot of bugs and glitches that were present in the game. Horizon: Zero Dawn is available now on PS4.
