Ex-Guerrilla Games Developer Asks Angry Horizon Fans: “What The Hell Is Wrong With You People?”

Sam Sharma wants those angry about the PC port to chill.

It was announced earlier today that Horizon: Zero Dawn would be coming to the PC at some point in the summer. It was a Sony published title developed by a Sony owned developer in Guerrilla Games, so it’s something of an unusual affair. It’s part of Sony beginning to slowly dip its toes in the PC ecosystem. But some online fans did not take the news well, and one ex-developer just wants to know what the hell is wrong with these people.

Via his Twitter, Sam Sharma, who once worked for the developer and on Horizon, responded to a video of a PlayStation fan who, I guess, went into a frenzy of rage after the announcement (for what it’s worth, this account is labeled a ‘parody account,’ so it’s entirely probable it’s a joke). Sharma asked simply what is so wrong with people that they have such extreme reactions to others getting some enjoyment out a game many years after the initial release. As someone who has to witness this kind of stuff pretty commonly doing this job, I imagine Sam will probably never find a real answer.

Despite the upcoming release of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Sony has reaffirmed they are still all in on dedicated hardware regardless of what they do on PC in the future. Of course, if you are smashing said hardware in fits of rage, I guess it doesn’t matter a lot anyway.
