With the Xbox Games Showcase set for June 9th, followed by [REDACTED] Direct, Activision has seemingly begun marketing for the next Call of Duty. A new teaser website called “The Truth Lies” is live, presenting an old CRT TV with multiple channels. There are two out of six available, the first seeing a group of mysterious individuals sneaking into a federal location.
It turns out to be Mount Rushmore, and the next day, banners that spell out “The Truth Lies” can be seen over the four US presidents. Over Abraham Lincoln’s eyes, however, is a logo of a three-headed dog/wolf. Changing to channel 2 reveals what may be the same group plastering flyers with “The Truth Lies” all over a town.
Rumors over the next Call of Duty, allegedly Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War from Treyarch, have circulated for some time now. With the project reportedly codenamed Cerberus, the three-headed hound of the Underworld in Greek mythology (which the logo on the website resembles), it’s easy to connect the dots.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War reportedly launches in October. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
