How long it’ll be before we get the next mainline, new entry in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms franchise is anyone’s guess, but fans of the series do still have something to look forward to, with a ground-up remake of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8, considered by many to be among the series’ finer instalments. Koei Tecmo has, in fact, also released a new trailer to offer a first real look at what the remake will look like and what gameplay improvements you can expect.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake isn’t just going to be a straight and simple recreation of the original PS2 title, instead featuring newly added playable officers and forces, updates to the All Periods Scenarios feature to now feature over 55 scenarios, improvements to the All Officers Play feature that will allow for Symbiotic and Antagonistic relationships to be formed between characters, the addition of Traits and Tales for officers and Relationship Charts, and more.
A release date for the turn-based tactics remake has also been announced. Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake will release on October 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
