While Final Fantasy 16's final paid DLC doesn't break new ground in many ways, it's another fine display of the action RPG's strengths.
Quality of life features like Skill Sets, Quick Complete, and new Photo Mode options are available, along with ability and accessory buffs.
It goes live on April 18th alongside The Rising Tide DLC and adds quality-of-life features like Skill Sets, Quick Complete and more.
One way or another, these games provoked strong reactions.
The second and final (for now) paid DLC of Final Fantasy 16 launches on April 18th for PS5. Here's what you should know before diving in.
"The series does lend itself well to that kind of storytelling, and we love Tactics as well. It’s probably about time that we do a new one," says Naoki Yoshida.
It may not offer as many high-profile titles as in previous months, but April still has plenty of potential big games to look forward to.
"Once the PC version is released, we’re thinking about hopefully moving to other platforms as well," says producer Naoki Yoshida.
Story-Focused and Action-Focused Modes see the level cap raised from 50 to 60, while Final Fantasy Mode maxes out at level 110.
The quest is a "thank you" to players, though game director Hiroshi Takai believes they'll respond with, "Oh, it was like that."
Both Final Fantasy 16 DLCs – Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide – will be available with its upcoming PC version, it's been confirmed.
It's playable until May 8th and sees players partnering with Clive Rosfield against Ifrit, obtaining his outfit and other rewards.
Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida teases an imminent panel at PAX East with the "director/producer" of the MMORPG.
It also adjusts to Abilities and Accessories, new Photo Mode features, additional Orchestrion Rolls and much more for free.
The expansion's Leviathan boss fight is going to be "especially challenging", according to its developers.
Mysidia will also bring new story content related to Jill, as well as battles against FF16's horrifying take on Tonberries.
The DLC will add a new endgame activity in the form of Kairos Mode, a survival mode that will see you fighting through 20 increasingly difficult stages.
Clive and co will travel to the land of Mysidia, where they will have to battle the Lost Eikon of Leviathan in order to save it.
Producer Naoki Yoshida says the team will announce system requirements before launch, but they're "looking to be somewhat high."
"Visually, graphically, there’s going to be a lot of attacks made from Levithan and that comes with a lot of water," says director Takeo Kujiraoka.
